Lemons & Limes

How's your Wednesday so far?  Mine is great - busy knocking out some quick projects that have been on my list!  One of those items is a card.  My daughter is going to a birthday party this weekend and we decided to get the makings for homemade popsicles - complete with popsicle molds, apron, and mix.  She chose a lemon theme for her present (man, where does she get the ideas for themed gifts!!?? hmm...) She asked me if I would use the Cricut to make a card (of course!) and off I went to my studio.  When I first opened the French Manor cart, I was thumbing through the book and saw a border that reminded me of lemons, which was funny because I think it is intended to be windows - but that's thinking outside the box, right?  So, using the colors in the apron we found - a lemon card is born!  Just think, you could use this image for limes, oranges, grapefruits too!  Thanks for stopping by!!

My Little Crafter

As I promised her, I'm posting my daughter's card that she made completely on her own!  She loves to create all kinds of things (wonder where she gets that from *wink*!)  I hope you enjoy her work and she would love to read your comments!  Thanks for stopping by!

I have finally used the French Manor cart that I received as a member of Cricut Circle!  I am thrilled with how this card turned out, so simple and elegant.  The card was based on the Sketch Challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps.  Thank you for taking a look at my creation!  Come back later to see what my daughter created on her own - yes, I'm creating a crafting monster!!

Birthday Card

Its another Throwback Thursday Challenge over at My Creative Time!  Love these challenges, hope these continue for a LONG time *wink*  The challenge was to make a project with a birthday theme using the Celebrations cartridge.  Well, I don't have that one so I used another older cart - Doodlecharms!  I really liked how this turned out using the borders option on the cart!  Thanks for stopping by!

Wild Card Cartridge

Howdy! Thanks for stopping by today. I love participating in Emma's Throwback Thursday challenges! It makes me go to older carts I have that I don't use as often anymore, which is great - AND - it makes me think outside the box! The challenge this week was to make a holiday card using the Wild Card Cart. I made a Christmas card using the Frame option on "pg. 48" - the Shower icon. I don't think I've ever seen that image before and was excited to use it!

Supplies:
Kraft cardstock - The Paper Company
Pattern Paper - K and Company
Christmas Sentiment - Stampin' Up
Timber Brown Ink - Staz On
Ribbon - Hobby Lobby

Bookmark - July 16, 2010

Cuttlebug Challenges has challenged us to make a project with a garden critter. Just the other day my daughter said, "Mom, I could use a bookmark." I thought well now that is interesting because she is not a big reader, but when an opportunity arises I should take it! I saw this worm and thought - Bookworm! - and here is the bookmark.

Supplies used:
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders - Floral Fantasy and Swiss Dots
White, Green, Brown Cardstock - The Paper Company
Green Polka Dot Paper - The Paper Studio
Blue Polka Dot Paper - Scraps
Cricut Cartrigde - Create A Critter
Lavender Ink - Stampabilities
Stickles
Chipboard Flower - Maya Road
Ribbon - Hobby Lobby

Christmas in July

Last year I waited until mid-November to start making Christmas cards! I'm thinking I need to be a bit more proactive in getting started earlier this year, so I've started playing around with some ideas. I came across a blog called Paper Cutz Challenge. It is a cute site and lo and behold there was a challenge posted - a Christmas in July challenge! The idea is to make a Christmas card any way you want BUT the challenge is to not use RED or GREEN! Sounds good to me, so I took an idea I kind of started and went with it. Here's a list of things I used:

Paper - white, gray and kraft cardstock (The Paper Company)
Ink - Frayed Burlap, Broken China (Tim Holtz Distress Ink); Lavender (Stampabilities)
Stamps - Inkadinkado; Basic Grey
Ribbon - Purple remnants from Hobby Lobby
Stickles - Platinum and Crystal (Ranger)

Hey Friend!

This is a card I made for a challenge over at My Creative Time. It is for the Throwback Thursday Challenge Emma has every week. It is fun to pull out the old carts and try new things with them. I used the Doodlecharms cart to make the cat and dog. Thanks for stopping by!

Here is a card I made for the Peachy Keen Blog Challenge. We had to make an item in which we took inspiration from a favorite vacation. My card was inspired by the beaches of Hawaii.

Here is my second item for today. Over at the ezine Embellish Magazine, we were asked to create an invitation using the colors gold, deep red, and green. This one took me awhile to come up with because I kept thinking Christmas, but didn't want to do that subject (its just too warm to even think that!!). So I pulled out a bunch of items and old stamps I haven't used in awhile - and got busy!!
