Shaped Card Challenge - And a Color too

Howdy friends!  Hope this Monday finds all of you well!

Today's post is my shaped card for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday.  Since St. Patrick's Day is approaching, I thought about making a card for that - and what better shape than the Four Leaf Clover!

And of course, you need a Pot 'O Gold at the end of a rainbow, right?

I cut out a piece of 'gold' from yellow paper and wrote "May you find your pot of gold at the end of a rainbow!"
Now it's your turn!  Head over to Fantabulous Cricut to play along!!  Until next time....

***ok friends - I'm editing this post to add that I also entered this into a challenge at a new site called The Paper Variety!  Looks like a REALLY cool blog over there with some fun challenges!  Can't wait to see what they have in store!

In a Snap Birthday Card

Howdy friends and Happy Monday!  I know, I know, your sayin' right now - WHAT??  Happy Monday - is she serious??  My kids are home from school today for President's Day, so we've kinda hung around, went to play tennis, and now I'm hearing them laughing downstairs while I work on a couple of projects.  I know that too soon, it will be too quiet in my house as they grow up.

Today, I chose to work on a challenge from Papertrey Inc.  They have a Make it Monday challenge (you can check it out here) and "your project must use at least one Papertrey product of some kind as well as glitter applied in a straight line in order to qualify."

We have some friends whose little guy is having his fourth birthday next week and I needed to come up with a simple card.  The challenge was perfect for what I was invisioning for his card.

So, now I'm off to submit it for Papertrey Ink's challenge!  They always have fun prizes to give away - and you can enter as many projects as you can dream up!!  Thanks for coming by today and I hope to see some of your projects over there too!!

Thanks A Bunch

Howdy friends!  Hope all is well in your neck of the woods - it is in the mid 70's here and just lovely outside!  Today I decided to participate in a challenge at My Creative Time with Emma for her Throwback Thursday challenge.  The requirements were easy - use Walk In My Garden cartridge (or an older cart if you don't have this one) and use a flower on the project.  The funny thing to me is that I have now used this cart 2 times in the past 2 weeks!  I probably haven't touched it since getting it last year.  Nice to revisit the oldies sometimes.  So, without further ado:

I like how it turned out, makes me think of the Spring-like weather that is outside right now!  Hope you get a chance to play along with her challenge!  Thanks for stopping by today :O)

Happy Valentines Day and a Fantabulous Cricut Weather Forcast

Howdy friends!  Happy Monday and Happy Valentines Day to all of you - it has been gorgeous here this weekend and we are expecting more beautiful weather this week!  Speaking of weather - this week's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut happens to be about weather!  How about that?!

Your challenge is to create a project featuring your favorite seasonal weather (i.e. sun-summer, leaves-fall, snow-winter, rain-spring).  We've been so cold here, very unseasonably so, that I decided that I'm ready for some pretty Spring weather!  Check out what was going on in my Studio this week:

I'm so ready for convertible top-down, flowers growing, birds chirping, Spring weather!  I made a topiary using a pot that I had made about a year ago at my local art studio.  We painted the ceramic pot, then Mod Podged paper pieces on it.  I then used craft foam to put inside the pot to anchor the stem, and more foam for the ball of the topiary.  I made paper flowers and cut out some bugs from Walk in My Garden cartridge.  A bit of hot glue, and voila!  Hope you enjoy and if you have any questions about my project, please let me know.

Now it is your turn.  Make sure you post your project on this week's Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut!

Supplies:
Walk In My Garden Cartridge - ProvoCraft
Ceramic Pot - JoAnn Fabrics
Mod Podge - Plaid
Twine - Hobby Lobby
Hot Glue
Patterned Paper and Cardstock Pieces - my own stash of stuff

Fantabulous Cricut Share the Love Bloghop!!!

Howdy friends!  Welcome to the fourth Fantabulous Cricut Crawl...Fantabulous Cricut's version of a blog hop!

Valentine's Day is in a week and everyone at Fantabulous Cricut has decided to Share the Love!   Each Design Team member will be featuring an original Valentine-themed project that includes the word LOVE somewhere on it.

If you've come from visiting Jean at Jean's Crafty Corner, you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, start HERE.

Make sure to check out each DT member's blog for some awesome inspiration! There will be PRIZES along the way at some of our DT members' blogs, AND there will be a Grand Prize up for grabs at FCCB for one participant that submits a "Share the Love" project at FCCB!

How fun is that?

Here is my project:
Here' s a look at the inside pages:

I used Tags, Bags, Boxes & More and Rock Princess to create the LOVE mini album in Design Studio.  I used cereal boxes for the chipboard and covered it in paper, trinkets, ribbons, and other embellies.  I then used book rings to put it all together and tied a bunch of ribbons on the rings for froofy decoration.  Very easy book to make, and lots of fun to decorate!  I can't wait to take some pictures of my family to put into it!!

Okie dokie:  How about a prize package for visiting my blog and playing along at FCCB? Here's what you need to do for a chance to win:
1. Become a follower if you are not already
2. Leave me a comment telling me what your favorite Valentine candy is!  (Mine is the Dark Chocolate Hearts from Dove!)
Here is the prize for doing the above - a package from Crate Paper
EDITED**** I'll choose the winner on Friday, February 11th from random.org.
Now it's your turn! Let's see your Share the Love projects!  Make sure to include a Cricut cut somewhere on your project and the word Love!

Next stop...Jenny's blog, at Jenny's Place. Go see what she has in store for you today... And when you're done, make sure to link up your project to FCCB's Fantabulous Cricut Crawl post to be entered into the contest!

Happy Crawling!

Baby It's Cold.....

Howdy friends!!  Let me start out by saying it is ridiculous cold out here in my part of the world - coldest we've seen in 15 years!!!  My kids and hubby have been home from school and work for 2 days due to the treacherous 'Texas Snow' (read - ice!) on the roads.  That's okay, though because we are kinda stuck, literally, in our house anyway.  The front door screen is frozen shut as is our garage door, so we couldn't get the cars out to go anywhere even if we wanted too!

So, the other day I promised a looksy at a couple of things I've been working on for Valentine's Day decor in my home.  This first item is actually a recycled piece of packaging from some picture frames I bought a year ago in the Target Dollar Spot.  I looked at the package and said to my mom (she was over playing with the Cricut - and she's hooked!!) "I can totally make something with this!"  So, here is what I came up with:

I covered the inside with some scraps of paper, cut out 2 Eiffel Tower images from French Manor and covered with glossy accents for shine, then cut out 'je t'aime' (French for I love you) from Holiday Cakes and welded the letters with Design Studio.  Then added some super fun zebra print fur ribbon trim I found at Hobby Lobby, the attached a piece of ribbon for hanging.  All of this was made from stuff in my stash - so I didn't spend any extra $$ on it!

The second item I have to show you is one of the frames that came from the above package (there were 3 in it), and I just sat down and played with different techniques.  Here is the result:

I started with a piece of patterned paper and put it in the frame.  Then I took transparency material cut out the heart using the Cricut from Love Struck, embossed it with the Cuttlebug folder Script Texture, painted the back with Adriondack Snow Cap and rubbed off excess.  Then I adhered the heart to the outside of the glass frame.  Next I took more of that fabulous trim and glued it to the bottom of the frame.  I cut out the word Love from Opposites Attract and glued it to the trim.  Finally, I took 3 flowers and glued them to the fram and added some paper leaves.  Yet again, no extra moolah spent!  I've really tried hard to use what I have already :O)

**About the flowers, these are made from another recycled material that I never would have thought of using before.  Its a technique I learned from a very talented lady who runs her own studio!  If you would like to know what that material is, give me a guess - and let me know if you would like a tutorial on the fabulous flowers!!!  I'll post a tutorial if anyone out there wants to know more!**

See ya'll soon!!
