Jingle All The Way - Throwback Thursday Challenge

Howdy friends!  What an exciting week this has been!  My daughter's birthday was yesterday and thanks to her for challenging me to start this blog!  Exciting things are beginning to happen for me and I'll share that news soon!  My son is off for his final band competition this weekend and we are so proud of the hard work they've put in for their performance - "Tango"!  It is awesome - my son even gets to tango during part of the show!

Enough about that - let's move on to Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge this week!  The challenge is to create something for Christmas (or winter holidays) using the Celebrations cartridge or another older cart.  I still don't have the Celebrations cart!  Gasp!  So I used Very Merry Tags and Winter Wonderland to create this project.  Easy peasy folks!  I am making gift tags to use on presents this year - and some tags might even find their way to family members prior to Christmas - but only if Santa gives me the okay on that!!

Whatdya think?  Very simple , just cut out the tag and circles, stamp, and embellish!  Easy, quick, and cute project from leftover items!  Have a great weekend - we are going to enjoy volleyball, Fall Festival at school, Trunk or Treat at church, and mom-in-law's birthday!  Happy Halloween all!

Tiny Treats: Christmas - Papertrey Ink.
Papers - Bazzill, The Paper Studio

'Beware' of 'Spooky' and 'Creepy' Things

Howdy friends!  Today I worked on the Challenge Me Monday challenge at Fantabulous Cricut and I am excited with how my project turned out!  I went to Hobby Lobby and saw these cute signs that were screaming to be decorated!  (They were already orange with purple glitter!)  All I had to do was use my handy dandy Cricut Expression and off to work I went!

I used the Mini Monsters Cricut Cartridge for all of the cuts, then I used Mod Podge to make it permanent.  I am very happy with the results!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies:
Signs - Hobby Lobby
Mini Monsters Cartridge - Provo Craft
Papers - DCWV, Bazzill

Music is Joy

Howdy friends!  It is almost Friday!!!  I have a busy weekend coming up with band, campout, Fright Fest at Six Flags, and church.  It has been a busy month all around and I'm ready to slow down a bit!  In the midst of all of the running around, I was able to make a fun project to share!

I wanted to create this project for the Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut this week and I knew who I was going to create this for - this is for our sweet music director at our church, which is why you will see all of the musical references in the project.  Now - the challenge is to create something with at least one leaf and as always it must have a Cricut cut in it.  Without further ado......

DISCLAIMER: I must say that I this is not my original idea.  I learned about this project from my local Crafting Studio -The Little Blue House.  This place is adorable and they have the most exciting projects and techniques to learn.  One very creative, sweet gal named Lolly designed the tree cutout and made it in Sure-Cuts-Alot, then the owner, Miss Tracy - also so sweet and generous - taught us how to make the canvas.  Now, my original canvas is all fall colors and has the words "Autumn Blessings" on it.  I love it so much!  I really wanted to make more for friends - so they were very happy to cut out a few more trees for me to purchase and take home to get creative!  Guess what - you can purchase the trees also!! (click here to find out how you can purchase them too!!)

The project you see is what I came up with on my own.

Thanks for stopping by!  I am currently finishing up another canvas, so stop by in the next couple of days to see it too!!

Supplies:

Burnt Umber paint - Americana
Paper - DCWV, Creative Imaginations, Sassafrass Lass, scraps from my stash
Tree cutout - Little Blue House (click here to find out how you can purchase them too!!)
Crystal Bling - Tulip
Black Soot Distress Ink - Tim Holtz
Twine - Hobby Lobby

I'm Really Going To....

Howdy friends!  Happy Friday to you - I cannot believe its Friday already!!!  Well, I've decided I'm going to apply to be a member of Fantabulous Cricut Design Team!  I really want the challenge of putting myself out there and sharing with others.  I love to create and share with my family and friends and for a few years, they have encouraged me to go to the next level.  With the encouragement of my 10 year old daughter, I started this blog in the summer.  Now, its time to continue moving forward - so, I'm really going to do it!  I'll keep you updated and let you know how it goes!!

Let the Baking Begin!!!

Howdy and Happy Friday friends!!  It is another beauty of a day here in Texas and tonight is Homecoming for my son's high school!  Can't wait to get out to the stadium and enjoy the evening!

I have been working on a challenge this week from Fantabulous Cricut and I am ready to post it.  The challenge is to create something having to do with baking.  I LOVE to bake!  I've been thinking of doing a cookie recipe book to give to my sisters-in-law (I have 3!!) for Christmas and this challenge came along at the perfect time.  The idea kind of started a few months ago when I attended a class that showed us how to make the 'bones' of this book.  The neat thing about the class was that it was intended to give you several options - a book, banner, calendar etc.  I took that same idea and made my own cookie recipe book with some of our family favorites we enjoy at Christmastime!

Supplies:
Cereal boxes for chipboard (love that recycling!)
Variety of papers from my stash!!!
Fiskars Punch
Stapler
Brown Ink - Stampabilites
Twine - Hobby Lobby
ATG Gun
From My Kitchen Cricut Cartridge
Jewels - Tulip
German Glass Glitter

Creepy Shadow Box

Howdy friends!!  SO sorry I didn't get back to post the other day - but hopefully this post will make up for it!

I am a HUGE fan of Kathy from Paper Phenomenon.  She has the COOLEST projects EVAH - and she makes it so easy to recreate her projects.  She will offer 'kits' that you can purchase with all the materials for following right along - OR - she is so awesome, that she broadcasts on UStream of how to do her projects with your own stuff!  She even will provide you with a gypsy file or DS file for the project for FREE!!  How cool is that??!!  Check her out here.

So, onto the project:  Kathy showed us how to make a shadow box completely out of paper and hot glue - that's it!  Well, except for the trim and bling, that is,  but seriously.  Go check out her project which is the inspiration for my project!

If you want to see the recorded show - just click on the UStream button on her blog at the top left corner.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'm enjoying being able to share my projects with you and I get so much inspiration from you too!!

Hugs,
Jenn
